Virtual Computer Lab
Intro:
Our virtual computer lab (VCL) is a powerful and versatile platform designed to meet your diverse needs, whether you're a student, instructor, or a user leveraging our hosting solutions.
The VCL offers you access to virtual machines tailored for a variety of purposes—from educational projects and instructional demonstrations to managing and deploying web applications like WordPress, Ghost, and other CMSs.
Our goal is to create an environment/dashboard where you can seamlessly explore, experiment, and utilize. With the VCL, you have the flexibility to work on your projects anytime, anywhere, without the limitations of physical hardware. This platform empowers you to:
- Develop and test website applications in a secure, isolated environment via your web browser.
- Students can collaborate on projects with peers and instructors, enhancing their learning experience.
- Manage and configure Virtual machines (VMs), servers, and remote desktops that are under your account.
This service is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, ensuring you can focus on what matters most—your work and learning. We believe that by providing you with these resources, we can help you unlock new opportunities and achieve your goals more efficiently.
Getting Started:
Purpose:
The computer lab application allows secure access for students, users, and cadres to connect to a variety of systems linked to their accounts. These systems can include virtual machines (VMs), Servers, and other web applications.
Requirements:
Users will need to have at least one service linked to their account, for example:
- A student enrolled in a course that requires a VM to create a digital resume or website. The user/student will have access to the VCL.
- A user hosting a website from RH will have access to their web app via the VCL.
Login instructions:
Users will first want to navigate to the Application Suite, this is where we can log in to the secure dashboard that will host the computer lab.
Click on the "Computer Lab" application tile.
This will take you to the application's login page. Once you authenticate, you will be presented with the devices linked to your account, such as VMs, servers, and web applications.
